Swarovski Christmas tree in Hong Kong

In celebration of the festive season, Swarovski presents the 30-metre high outdoor Crystal Christmas Tree at Statue Square in Central, Hong Kong in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) for Hong Kong WinterFest to be held from 29th November 2010 to 2nd January 2011. Rhombus-shaped mirrors in silver and gold, reminiscent of window panes, sheath the tree. They are embellished with over 20 million pieces of Swarovski crystals from Austria that glint in the sunlight, making the tree the major highlight of the Hong Kong WinterFest, the HKTB's winter promotion. Swarovski and the HKTB invited Ms Michele Reis, Mr Louis Koo and Ms Sandra Ng, together with Ms Allison Pyrah, Vice President Operations of Swarovski Consumer Goods Business, Greater China; Ms Donna Pang, CGB Manager of Swarovski Consumer Goods Business, Hong Kong and Macao; and Mr James Tien, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board to officiate the Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Swarovski Crystal Christmas tree dazzles in the darkness of the night by means of the interactive lights from over 200 pieces of Swarovski Annual Edition 2010 Christmas ornaments that pulsate along with the music, and sparkling fireworks on the treetop. With this scintillating Christmas tree, Swarovski brings an enchanted world of glittering decorations, magical crystals and sparkling dreams for the public and tourists alike to savour the poetry of Christmas.
